At the 2019 Global Security Exchange (GSX) in Chicago, the Houston ASIS Chapter was
recognized and awarded with an I.B. Hale Chapter of the Year Award. This award annually
recognizes the outstanding chapter in its membership group category that has made the most
significant contribution to ASIS and the security profession during the year. The Executive
Committee proudly accepted the award on behalf of the chapter and appreciate all
contributions this year from our members, volunteers, and sponsors.

The ASIS Houston Chapter also received the Chapter Community Service Award for the
chapter’s “Teddy Bears for Tots” community service project. In August, the chapter delivered
teddy bears to several Houston area children’s hospitals in an effort to bring joy to patients and
their families. Thank you to those that donated towards the teddy bears as well as Kathy
Giddings and Madison Haltom for coordinating the event.
